Works With WELL: Aircare is the first Italian IoT device to earn the mark

Aircare Società Benefit Srl is the first company in Italy to obtain the license for the use of the “Works With WELL” mark for the Aircare 2.0 IoT device. This important recognition comes from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), which has published the product specifications on its official website, confirming that it meets the requirements of the WELL Building Standard (WELL). This mark confirms the effectiveness of Aircare’s technology and the commitment to offering innovative solutions to improve air quality and indoor comfort.

What is WELL Standard

The WELL protocol is an international standard for the design, construction, and management of buildings that promote the health and well-being of occupants. Developed by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the protocol focuses on several key factors, such as air quality, water, light, nutrition, comfort, and furnishings. Each area is designed to enhance the quality of life in indoor spaces, making them healthier and more stimulating. The WELL Building Standard is one of the leading references for those who want to create sustainable work environments focused on people’s well-being.

Launched in 2014 by IWBI, the WELL protocol is now applied in over 74,000 locations across 130 countries, defining strategic interventions in 10 thematic areas to improve indoor environments.

Where Aircare 2.0 is compliant with the WELL Building Standard

Aircare 2.0 supports three of these fundamental areas: Air, Thermal Comfort, and Materials, contributing to the achievement of the following functionalities of the WELL protocol:

  • A08.1 Air quality monitoring and awareness – Install Indoor Air Monitors: Effectively monitor and manage indoor air quality conditions. Inform and educate people about indoor environmental quality.
  • T06.1 Thermal comfort monitoring – Monitor Thermal Environment: Effectively monitor and manage thermal comfort conditions. Inform building managers and occupants of the thermal comfort parameters of their internal environment.
  • X01.3 Material Restrictions – Restrict Lead: Reduce or eliminate exposure to hazardous materials.
  • X05.1 Enhanced Material Restrictions – Select Compliant Interior Furnishings: Minimize exposure to certain chemicals by limiting their presence in products.

Aircare 2.0 | Measurement and Integration

The Aircare 2.0 device has been designed to constantly monitor essential parameters of air quality and indoor comfort, including CO2 levels, particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOC), temperature, and humidity. These parameters are essential for understanding and improving indoor conditions, allowing building managers to make informed and proactive decisions. All the collected data is displayed on a dedicated dashboard, from which it is possible to analyze the information and integrate it with building HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and BMS (Building Management System) systems. This integration allows for energy consumption optimization and efficient and sustainable improvements in indoor environment quality.

People & Smart Building Service

In addition to ensuring continuous monitoring of the indoor environment, Aircare 2.0 is part of the “People & Smart Building” service, a scalable solution designed to improve people’s well-being within spaces and increase the energy efficiency of buildings.

The “People & Smart Building” solution is designed to be easily adaptable to different types of buildings, allowing each structure to adopt IoT technologies that contribute to environmental sustainability goals.

Conclusion

The “Works With WELL” recognition is a key milestone for Aircare and demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to improving the quality of indoor spaces, placing people’s health at the center.

This validation represents not only an achievement but also a confirmation of the validity of our vision: using technology to optimize spaces and promote indoor well-being.

Our goal is to make the places where we live and work safer, healthier, and more efficient, contributing to creating environments where people can live to their full productivity.
