Corporates with multiple sites: environmental and energy monitoring

Meeting rooms and workplaces are crucial spaces in the operational management of companies. Optimizing their use and ensuring that they are always ready and comfortable is essential to maximize productivity and ensure a healthy and sustainable environment for users well-being.

In this use case, we demonstrate how we supported a large company in improving the efficiency of its meeting room usage.

Spazi di lavoro salubri e smart grazie ai sensori IoT

Client: Large corporate company

Needs: The company was facing common issues that many large organizations encounter. The primary needs included:

  • Improving the occupancy and efficiency of meeting rooms, used for 8 hours a day.
  • Ensuring that the spaces were always ready for use, guaranteeing comfortable, healthy, and sustainable environments suitable for efficient and prolonged meetings.
  • Understanding the actual usage of the meeting rooms and monitoring their frequency and usage patterns.
  • Choosing low-impact technological solutions, avoiding expensive and complex structural interventions.

Implemented solution

1. Sensors monitoring system

To address these needs, a sensor-based monitoring system was implemented, capable of detecting room occupancy and constantly monitoring air quality.

2. Occupancy and space usage control

With motion detection sensors, it was possible to collect precise real-time data on room occupancy, identifying peak demand and periods of underuse through data analysis. This enabled better management of room-booking.

3. Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) sensors

To ensure a comfortable and healthy environment, IAQ sensors were integrated to continuously monitor parameters such as CO2 and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), factors that directly impact work quality and users’ well-being.

How do the sensors work?

When CO2 concentrations exceed a predefined threshold, the system sends automatic notifications to users or the facility management team via a customized dashboard, suggesting, for example, the opening of windows/doors to improve natural ventilation in addition to mechanical ventilation.

Results: improved space efficiency and user comfort

The adoption of the sensor-based monitoring system has produced tangible results in terms of efficiency and work environment quality:

1. Reduction of CO2 and VOC exposure

Thanks to the automatic notification system, the company was able to reduce exposure to high levels of CO2 and VOCs, improving users’ health and well-being. Active ventilation management ensured optimal air quality throughout the use of the rooms (an 18% reduction in pollutants), reducing potential fatigue symptoms and increasing concentration during long meetings.

2. Increased availability and optimal use of spaces

Constant monitoring and data analysis from the sensors allowed the company to identify usage peaks and periods of inactivity, improving the organizational management of spaces and optimizing resource allocation for critical meetings. This enhanced internal planning and provided a more efficient environment for business activities.

3. Improved user comfort

Optimizing air quality reduced organizational stress related to meetings, creating a more comfortable and productive environment. The availability of always ready and suitable meeting rooms improved overall well-being, reducing discomfort related to space management.

Conclusion

With Aircare, creating a smarter, more productive, and healthier work environment is simple and fast. Thanks to intuitive monitoring systems, effective sensors, and a customized management platform, we guarantee constant, efficient, and precise monitoring.
